Even a correctly selected system will not protect a structure if it is applied over a dusty surface, at the dew point or below the specified thickness. We inspect painting, fire protection and waterproofing work on site on behalf of the client or the main contractor and document every stage.
Formats
- Full-time presence on site for the duration of the work.
- Periodic visits to an agreed schedule.
- Hold points — attendance at the stages after which work does not continue without acceptance: surface preparation, primer, final thickness.
What we check
- materials on delivery: compliance with the specification, batches, shelf life, storage conditions, manufacturer’s documents;
- surface preparation: edges, welds, preparation grade, surface profile, dust, salts;
- climatic conditions before and during application;
- each coat: wet and dry film thickness, overcoating intervals, stripe coating of edges and welds;
- final acceptance: thickness, adhesion, continuity, appearance;
- fire protection: thickness to the design’s sampling rules, condition of the primer and topcoat, material documentation;
- repair of damage after erection.

Reporting
- daily or stage reports with measurements and photographs;
- inspection records on the inspection plan forms;
- non-conformance reports: description, corrective action required, close-out record;
- a final report and a coatings quality dossier for handover of the facility.
Whose interests we represent
Inspection only makes sense if it is independent of whoever is doing the work. We act for the party that engaged us — the client or the main contractor. If we supplied the materials or our partner applied them, we say so in advance and decide together with you who will carry out the inspection, so that there is no doubt about its objectivity.
Coating inspection complements, rather than replaces, the client’s technical supervision and the designer’s supervision: our area is the quality of the protective coatings.
