Grout selector: choosing a grout for the job

Answer a few questions and the selector will show which type of grout suits your task, together with materials from the catalogue. An engineer will select the grade for your pour depth and work out the volume and the number of bags or kits based on your request.

How the selector works

Non-shrink cementitious grouts are used under column baseplates, under most machinery and for anchoring. Epoxy grouts are chosen where there is vibration and impact, oils and chemicals, or where a fast return to service is needed. Wind turbine foundations use high-strength cementitious grouts designed for dynamic and fatigue loading.

The final grade is determined by the pour depth, the temperature during placing and in service, the timescale and the volume: these govern the flowability, heat generation and placing sequence.

What you receive on request

  • the grout grade and 2–3 options from different manufacturers;
  • the volume and the number of bags or kits;
  • the preparation, placing and curing procedure;
  • recommendations on formwork and quality control.

More about the service is in the “Protective coatings engineering” section. Designers have a dedicated page.
